All the post Easter encounters the disciples had with Jesus all start with Jesus saying ‘Peace be with you’. How they needed it! They must have been so confused and exhausted. They had seen their leader and friend die a horrifying death and then, as indeed he told them he would do, rose from the dead and appeared to them behind locked doors and on the beach! Jesus stood among them and said ‘Peace be with you!’ It is this same peace that is available to each one of us today as we live out our lives. It is a peace that can’t be bought but can be received through a God who cares for all the detail of our lives.
And so it is my prayer for you in this season that whatever your circumstances of life you might know God’s peace that passes all understanding. In all of our church life we are seeking that peace and joy.
As the Church Hall continues to be renovated, we look forward to all the events that will be possible on its completion.
However, in the meantime, the church building is buzzing with life most days!! It is wonderful to have people of all ages and walks of life feeling at home in our ancient and welcoming building. From the toddlers on Monday and Thursday, band practice on Wednesday and dance classes on Tuesday and Thursday, all are welcome. In all this we can see our new vision for the church coming to fruition.
We seek to be a welcoming community, where Gods love is shown and grown.
We recognise that we haven’t got it all right but seek to be a Christian community, family , that is open to change and learning how to live in the light of the resurrection for the benefit of Knotty Ash.
