The demarcations are back!
As ever, walking my dog in the relative stillness of a new day, calms my soul and it is also where my imagination is freer.
So, it’s not surprising that as I walked my dog this morning again, I was struck by something different!
The markings for the football pitches are back on Knotty Ash playing field! The grass has been rested and renewed and all is set for another season.
Which naturally makes us aware that summer is fast coming to an end and a new season of football as well as life is upon us.
Over the past few weeks young people have had the next part of their lives defined in exam results and younger children have said farewell to their younger days and will soon be heading for a secondary school. Life moves on.
This time of year is also a changing season for our countryside. Combine harvesters have been busy and already there will be fields sown for food for next year.
So much happens in such a short space of time!
I trust that all of you might be able to find that moment of stillness to reflect and look forward with hope.
Our thoughts and prayers go to all those who will be experiencing change over the next few weeks, whether changing jobs, moving to a new house, going off to a new life at university or going to a new school.
May the peace of God go with you.
